2019 is just around the corner and I can’t think of a better time to reflect upon the achievements of our Authorized Dealer Network. In November, we gathered in beautiful Marco Island for CONNECT 2018, themed Focused to Win. For those of you who experienced CONNECT firsthand, we hope you enjoyed the educational sessions, general sessions, community service event and networking activities. The energy throughout the weekend proved that we have the tools needed to thrive.
At the Partner and Innovation Showcase, our dealers had the chance to see and test the latest technologies, where we previewed the next generation security platform that will help you win more customers, keep them longer, and drive profits. Thanks to our Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors for helping to make this night possible.
During the event, there was exciting news around the recent spinoff of our new company Resideo. Alice DeBiasio, vice president and general manager of global residential security, kicked off the general session and urged attendees to embrace the connected home technology. She explained that consumers need professional expertise to simplify the smart home, and the security dealer is best positioned to deliver. Attendees also heard from Mike Nefkens, Resideo’s CEO, on how Resideo will deliver an end-to-end connected home. His address highlighted the company’s plans to double down on the professional channel to give dealers the tools they need to deliver an exceptional consumer experience.
Honoring First Responders
Life safety is a key component to our program. This year we presented our 2018 Life Safety Award to the Marco Island Police Department, Fire Department, City Staff, and JW Marriott Marco Island for their work in minimizing the impact of Hurricane Irma in their community. To learn more, take a few minutes to watch the video where Larry King recounts the details.
Giving Back to the Local Community
Our dealers are dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve and this year was no different. While showcasing their competitive spirit, they had another opportunity to help. During the Stand Down for Homeless Vets -Trivia Edition, 100 attendees divided into teams to test their skills in an interactive trivia game. After the game, they packaged 525 basic needs/hygiene kits that were distributed by the local American Red Cross of South Florida. To see a video of the event, click here.
CONNECT also gives us the chance to turn the spotlight on those in the network who have really excelled in 2018. At our awards banquet and throughout the event, we honored many companies for their efforts in sales, marketing and installation. View the photo gallery above to see who was honored this year.
Save the Date for CONNECT 2019
With a brand new program focused on providing the resources our dealers need to succeed, 2019 will be an exciting time. As part of the program, we will be hosting six myCE regional meetings, with the first in San Diego on April 23-24. If you are in our network, please make the time to attend these smaller meetings as they give you a unique opportunity to network and share best practices. Then, mark your calendars for October 24-27 when we will host CONNECT 2019 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. If you were in Marco Island, don’t forget to submit the Resideo CONNECT 2018 Survey as this feedback helps us create an event you won’t want to miss. If you didn’t receive an email to complete the survey or, if you are looking to grow your business and would like to learn more about our program, please fill out the Contact Us form at the top of this blog post.
I am so proud of all that we achieved together in 2018. Best wishes for a Happy Holiday season.
